NewsHip-hop barbecue events announced for US citiesA series of special hip-hop barbecues have been announced for three US cities throughout July and August. Zune 'Live At The BBQ' will take place in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago and will feature performances by Common, Mos Def, Clipse and Lupe Fiasco among others. Lil' Jon, David Banner and Cham are also on the bill for events which will kick off July 12 in Los Angeles. Additional artists and venues will be confirmed closer to the shows. The dates are: Los Angeles, CA (July 12) Chicago, IL (21) New York, NY (August 4) Kurt Cobain biopic features REM, Iggy Pop The soundtrack to the film 'Kurt Cobain About A Son' will feature tracks from REM, Iggy Pop and David Bowie as well as several other bands that reportedly influenced the Nirvana frontman. The soundtrack, due out in the US on September 11 via Barsuk, will also include a new song by Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, who also composed an original score for the film along with producer Steve Fisk. Although the soundtrack will not feature any songs from Nirvana, it will feature excerpts of audio-taped interviews with Cobain. The film, due out in late 2007, features several rare interviews with the singer, as well as footage of sites in the Pacific Northwest that played a major role in his life.
